- Well known national retailer celebrating 40 years of success and growth but looking for further transformation and enhancement.
Our client is celebrating 40 years of success and growth and is truly a household name. They recognise the changing landscape of Australian retail - including the emergence and further potential of digital - and to ensure they remain on the front foot have created the role of Retail Operations Director.
The Position will lead a small team whose purpose is to support, drive change and take a macro level view to create strategy and continuous improvement across the groups 500 + stores. You will work closely with the Stores Director and the State managers, but rather than focus on day to day sales results you will be an interface between the stores and other head office functions such as property, compliance, IT, Merchandise, Marketing, and HR to ensure profit is maximised via your support team. This will be achieved through driving retail operational excellence across all areas including customer standards and satisfaction, KPI's and benchmarking, monitoring and maximising cost controls, introducing greater efficiencies through systems and policy and ensuring safety and HR compliance.
You will be able to a demonstrate a record of achievement in a similar role where you were able to influence and work with State managers and stores to obtain retail operational excellence through continuous improvement in KPI's, customer standards, systems, and policies. You will be a strong communicator, have an eye for detail, be analytical, and inspirational in your approach. Your background could also include time running multi-site sales, although experience in an "interface/support role" preferably in a transformational environment in a retailer with 200 stores plus will be key. Tertiary qualifications are preferred, as is a high work ethic, the ability to solve problems and the desire to make a real difference.
