Half the Australian workforce "fell into" their jobs: Survey
A survey from newly launched online assessment business CMyPeople, a division of Chandler Macleod, has found that more than half of the Australian workforce is in unplanned and often unsatisfying careers. The survey of around 650 workers found that 53% reported they "fell into" their current roles. It also found that nearly two thirds of workers were dissatisfied at work and looking for new jobs. 64% reported they were either "actively looking" or "keeping an eye out" for a new role. Of the 25% of workers who had actively planned their careers, some 80% were happy where they were. CMyPeople is a new web-based assessment tool based on 36 specific competencies, which was modelled on Chandler Macleod's existing assessment Employability Skills Profiler product.
